Day 7: Budapest Date | 24 December

Hello everyone !

Like many of the cities so far we started the day with a walking tour of Budapest by a local guide. We climbed up the old castle district and saw the murals in Matthias Church beside the Fisherman’s Bastion. This area provided a fantastic view over the River Danube and the Hungarian parliamentary district. Preceding this we visited the Royal Palace of Buda then made our way over to Pest to visit Heroes’ Square. On this note it was interesting to find out the Budapest isn’t actually branded as one district. “Buda” is one area and “Pest “ is area, together forming “Budapest”.

For lunch we headed out to the small quaint town of Szen Tendre and enjoyed a great lunch followed by a stroll around the town which was very interesting.

As Christmas is Celebrated on the 24th in Hungary we spent the evening enjoying our own private Hungarian dinner with our tour group at our hotel. This was a very enjoyable night with great company and it really felt like Christmas .
