Over the last two days we have spent our time in the beautiful city of Venice with very sunny and quite mild conditions (which is very rare at this time of the year). Our tour guide kept reassuring us on the way to Venice that the standard of hotels we had become accustomed to would change in Italy however assured us that our location would be perfect in Venice. Upon arrival at the hotel we were surprised to see the hotel was quite simple but nice. We were also right on the water and outside our door was St Marks Square. We spent the night cruising through the grand canals and doing a night stroll with the tour. We were all amazed by the cities beauty.
The next day we spent the morning watching a Venetian glass-blowing demonstration in the Murano factory which was a spectacular site to see. Proceeding the Murano factory we all enjoyed a gondola ride through the canals which was once again amazing.
In the afternoon we went on a cruise around the surrounding islands of Venice including the colourful island of Burano which was stunning with all the houses on the island promoting all the colours of the rainbow and shops filled with hand made lace items. We then had lunch in Burano which included a seven course meal sampling all the fresh local specialities. The cruise back to the main land was partiuclary stunning as the sun was setting over the water. We then spent the night enjoying the local shops and food.

Overall the city of Venice was one of the most amazing places so far and one that we all agree would be worth coming back to in the future.
