The journey from Lucernce to Paris was one of the longest
drives so far. We arrived late afternoon and later on went to see Moulin Rouge.
We had dinner in the theatre followed by the famous show. I did enjoy the show,
however who ever tells you to get excited for topless women isn’t exactly
correct as yes there are topless girls however the men on set are so gay that
they steal all the femininity in the show. I can’t even begin to imagine the
bitching that goes on behind the scenes.
The following day we travelled to Versailes to visit the palace
built for Louis XIV. If we saw this palace at the start of the tour it probably
would have been amazing, although to be honest after a while churches, castles and palaces all start looking the same.
We then returned to Paris for a
guided tour past the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Lourve (where we saw the Mona
Lisa) and the Opera house. We then drove
from the Place de la Concorde along the Champ Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe. Finally we arrived at the Eiffel Tower which
we had all been eagerly anticipating. We went up to the second level
of the tower although we were unfortunately not able to venture to the top due to
strong winds.
In a nutshell the city of Paris was beautiful,
clean and classy. In my eyes it strongly resembled London, with many of the
streets and buildings having strong similarities.
However all good things come to
an end, and it was time for our farewell dinner for our tour. The dinner to be
honest was very average however the company was great like it had been over the
last 20 days. We will all miss everyone on the tour as everyone was great and
like our tour guide kept telling us, clicked so well and always had fun. We all swapped emails to keep in contact and I hope to meet up with some of
them in the future!
Now off to bed as we are flying
to Berlin tomorrow!
